Code of Business Ethics and Compliance

Corporate Citizenship

The value of Corporate Citizenship illustrates CIRI's dedication to be a responsible citizen and to have a genuine concern for the welfare and long-term sustainability of the community in which we live and work.

Social Responsibility

CIRI believes that organizations have a responsibility beyond being an economic force; they are also a social force with an obligation to ensure the viability of our communities. We are socially responsible and determined to improve the community in which we live and work.

CIRI encourages employees to share their time and expertise with charitable organizations. Employees, officers, and directors of CIRI personally engage in community activities through volunteerism, personal giving, and sharing. For example, CIRI donates employee time at Bean's Cafe on a monthly basis serving food, and also coordinates efforts for employees to donate food to the Food Bank of Alaska during times of need. CIRI employees lead local and statewide fundraising efforts for organizations such as United Way, and serve on the boards of many non-profit and community organizations.

Corporate Giving

CIRI strives to be an exemplary corporate citizen and takes a leadership role in the greater Alaska community, which in turn benefits our shareholders and employees. CIRI regards its corporate support monetary and in-kind contributions as well as volunteer activities as an investment in the future of the local and state community, and a demonstration of our commitment to social responsibility and corporate citizenship.

Health and Social Services

CIRI works closely with and supports non-profit organizations that operate under CIRI's tribal authority as well as other statewide Native non-profit organizations, collectively providing a set of enduring health, education, employment, social services, and housing services as well as cultural preservation and advancement. These organizations provide, among other things, innovative programs in job training, post- secondary education scholarships and grants, early childhood development, welfare-to-work, family medicine and dentistry, addiction treatment, affordable housing, and many other valuable services to those who need them most. These programs, which have received national recognition, help to establish and build a strong community for current and future generations and improve the quality of life for our shareholders and other Alaska Natives and American Indians in the Anchorage area.
