Private equity and venture capital investments

CIRI makes strategic private equity and venture capital investments to help maintain its portfolio diversity and to participate in opportunities that are generally not available to individual investors. Carefully selected venture capital and private equity investment vehicles have historically achieved better returns than are produced by most traditional stock and bond investments.

The Company invests in a variety of private equity limited partnerships, managed by some of the most respected firms in the industry. CIRI seeks to invest in funds with strong historic results and highly reputable management. These partnerships include funds dedicated to opportunities in diverse segments including global energy and power generation, international markets, distressed debt, cleantech and the financial sector.
