CITC’s Summer Reforestation and Cultural Enrichment Camp 2003

Cook Inlet Tribal Council’s 4th Annual Summer Reforestation and Cultural Enrichment Camp is taking applications now for the summer 2003 season for youth ages 14 to 18 years of age. There will be five 10-day sessions starting June 9 and ending August 13. The camp is located near Ninilchik, Alaska, about 225 miles south of Anchorage. The camp participants engage in a variety of activities, such as work ethics and life skill classes, wilderness safety, traditional Alaska Native customs and cultural activities. The planting of 100,000 spruce tree saplings is the primary activity for the camp. There is no charge to the participants. Stipends are paid for satisfactory performance and participants have a chance to earn half elective school credit. Applications can be picked up at Cook Inlet Tribal Council’s Educational Services System Department at 504 W. 25th Avenue, or are available online at www.citci.com, or by calling Courtney Sullivan at (907) 317-9202 in Anchorage or toll-free at 1(877) 985-5900. Space is limited so plan to attend the earliest orientation.
