Billy Blackjack Johnson, 78
Billy Blackjack Johnson died June 24, 2003, at the Heritage Hospital in Tarboro, N.C. Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Nome, Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Janice Johnson; three daughters, Audrey Johnson, Jane Vollant, and Caroline Cooke; five sons, Fredrick, Michael, Kenneth, Robert, and Steve Johnson; one stepdaughter, Lisa Ruffin; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert Eugene Ryan, 34
Robert Eugene Ryan died June 17, 2003, in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Ryan was born May 29, 1969, in Anchorage, Alaska. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jean Ryan; brother, Raymond Edward Ryan, Jr.; and stepsister, Dianna Lynn Gaskins;

Harry Alexander Sambo, 74
Harry Alexander Sambo died May 10, 2003, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Sambo was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Unalakleet, Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Louise Nadia Sambo; sister, Betsy Sambo; and brothers, Richard and Robert Sambo.

Dorothy Ann (Williams) Smith, 50
Dorothy Williams Smith died March 15, 2003, at East Orange General Hospital in East Orange, N.J. Ms. Smith was born May 23, 1952, in Cordova, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Marian Smith; sons, James and Samaad Smith; sisters, Virginia Graham, Lillian Outwater, Elsie Williams Stewart; and brothers, Zenith, David, and Theodore Williams.

Michael L. Smith, 62
Michael L. Smith died June 1, 2003, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Smith was born October 12, 1940, in Modesto, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Maria Darci Smith, and sons, Matthew Valeriano Smith and Mark Ricarte Smith.

Anna Marie Toshavik, 70
Anna Marie Toshavik died April 30, 2003, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Ms. Toshavik was born Dec. 21, 1932, in Anchorage, Alaska. She is survived by her husband, George Toshavik; sons, Quinn Edwin Toshavik, William Johnson, and Thomas Lock; daughters-in-law, Alice Johnson and Amanda Toshavik; grandchildren, Diana Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Amber Lock; and many great-grandchildren.
