Cook Inlet Tribal Council Continues Christmas Dinner Program

For the 15th year, Cook Inlet Tribal Council will host a Christmas Dinner Program for Alaska Native and Native American families who live in the Anchorage area. "This is a positive example of CITC's partnering with the community to make sure families, especially children, have a wonderful and bright Christmas," said Gloria O'Neill, CITC president and chief executive officer.

The Christmas Dinner Program is spearheaded each year by CITC's community relations department. "For some of our clients, this program provides the only gift a child will receive," said Donna Sallee, community relations director.

CITC provided over 348 Christmas dinners last year through the Christmas Dinner Program.

Last year, CITC raised more than $21,000 from Anchorage businesses and individuals to provide 348 families in Anchorage a Christmas dinner, toys and books for children. CITC collaborated with other organizations that provided similar holiday dinners to maximize the number of families who received assistance and to avoid duplication.
