Harold Dimmick died Sept. 4, 2002, at the Alaska Native Medical Center
in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Dimmick was born July 30, 1925, in Shishmaref,
Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughters, Arlene J. Hobson
and Lily E. VanFleet; sons, Gordon K. Dimmick, John S. Dimmick, Russell
A. Dimmick, and Robert E. Donlun.
Mark E. Gjertson, 37
Mark Gjertson died Oct. 23, 2002, in Jackson, Calif. Mr. Gjertson was
born Oct. 26, 1964, in Anchorage, Alaska. He is survived by his daughter,
Brittany Hubert; son, Nathan Redfeather Gjertson; sister, Rosetta Sharon
Loomis; and brothers, Matthew G. and Timothy D. Gjertson.
Einar William Hagberg, 65
Einar William Hagberg died Nov. 1, 2002, at the Columbia Memorial Hospital
in Astoria, Ore. Mr. Hagberg was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Nome, Alaska.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlein and Jerry Sanford;
son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Susan Hagberg; and grandchildren, Alexa
and Lauren Sanford and Kristen, Kyle and Katie Anne Hagberg.
Benjamin Pierre Lindgren, Jr., 55
Benjamin Pierre Lindgren, Jr., died March 29, 2002, at home in Berkeley,
Calif. Mr. Lindgren was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Shreveport, La. He is survived
by his wife, Eleanor Kathleen Lindgren, and son, Esten Sigfrid Lindgren.
Emery V. Showalter, Sr., 68
Emery V. Showalter, Sr. died Sept. 23, 2002, at home in Kenai, Alaska.
Mr. Showalter was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Kenai, Alaska. He is survived
by his wife, Veja Showalter; daughters, Ruby Erskine and Emerline Showalter;
sons, Zack Maley and Vince Showalter; grandsons, Tauna Showalter, Raymond
Batt and Billy Bliss; and granddaughters, Sarah, Amanda, Annie, Kathy,
and Nichell Bliss.
Gene Hunter Smagge, 61
Gene Hunter Smagge died Aug. 25, 2002, at home in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Mr. Smagge was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Kenai, Alaska. He is survived by
his wife, Edna; daughter, Suzanne Jackson; and sons, Todd, James, and
Lorne Smagge.
