CIRI-Controlled Company Registers for FCC Auction 58

In late November 2004, CIRI concluded negotiations to form a CIRI-controlled joint venture with T-Mobile USA to pursue Personal Communications Systems (PCS) licenses in the upcoming Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Auction 58.  Cook Inlet/VS GSM VII PCS, LLC (“CIVS VII”) is the new CIRI-controlled company that plans to participate in the upcoming auction.

In Auction 58, the FCC will offer licenses that it had attempted to offer in previous auctions but had been tied up in bankruptcy proceedings.

CIRI’s non-controlling joint venture partner in CIVS VII is T-Mobile U.S.A., the successor to VoiceStream Wireless, CIRI’s joint venture partner in prior auctions.

Auction 58 is scheduled to begin Jan. 26, 2005.  Until the conclusion of the auction, which could be many months later, it will not be known whether CIVS VII is the winning bidder on licenses.
