Alaska Native Heritage Center Seeks Cultural Advisors The Alaska Native Heritage Center is seeking Alaska Native elders, tradition bearers, and experts to serve as members of the Alaska Native Heritage Center Council of Cultural Advisors. The Alaska Native Heritage Center Board of Directors established the council to serve as a resource to ensure the accuracy and quality of the center's programs and educational activities.
Chimegalrea added that the goal in establishing the council is to increase statewide participation by Alaska Natives in guiding the Heritage Center's development, as well as to add breadth and depth to the programs and activities presented by the center. Occasionally, small groups of advisors will convene to help the staff plan programs or exhibits.
