| IOver the years, in addition to other means of communication,
CIRI has conducted shareholder surveys to learn more about shareholder
attitudes and views on issues important to shareholders and the
corporation.
In November 2002, CIRI worked with an Alaska research firm to conduct
a random sample of the views of approximately 400 shareholders.
During the telephone survey, shareholders were asked questions such
as: "In your opinion, what is the overall purpose of CIRI–what
was it originally created for and intended to do?"; "How
satisfied are you with how well CIRI has accomplished its purpose?";
and "How would you rate CIRI's overall performance as a corporation?"
In February, a questionnaire will be mailed to each shareholder
to provide an opportunity to voice personal comments, ideas, and
recommendations. Through this additional research, the corporation
is hoping to generate more detailed information about the values,
attitudes, and opinions of the majority of shareholders. To encourage
shareholders to participate, a drawing will be held to provide prizes
for 10 randomly selected survey participants.
Following the research and analysis, survey results will be shared
in a future issue of the CIRI Shareholder Update.
