Virginia Mae Arb, 74
Virginia Mae Arb died Nov. 29, 2003, at home in Portland, Ore. Ms. Arb was born May 15, 1929, in Bend, Ore. She is survived by her husband, Leonard W. Arb; daughters, Karen L. Ranney, Kathryn C. Mattox, and Vicki A. LeVieux; son, David W. Arb; grandchildren, Melissa Westfall, Joseph Westfall, Lance Westfall, and Colin J. Ranney; and great-grandchildren, Payton Westfall, John Neal, Jonathan Neal, Alexander Westfall, and William Westfall (due in February).

Mildred Dorothy Bond, 67
Mildred Dorothy Bond died Nov. 20, 2003, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. “Millie” was born June 26, 1938, in Wainwright, Alaska. She is survived by her husband, Dale L. Bond; daughter, Jackie Hill; sons, Carl Joule, Timothy Joule, and Tony Joule; sisters, Annie Joule and Mable Blatchford; and brother, Reggie Joule. Millie was a graduate of Mt. Edgecumbe High School. According to her family, she enjoyed outings with her husband, picking blueberries, dip net fishing, and socializing.

Calvin L. Colberg, 70

Calvin L. Colberg died Jan. 14, 2004, at the Heritage Place Nursing Home in Soldotna, Alaska. Mr. Colberg was born May 9, 1933, in Seward, Alaska. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia L. Brady; son, Grasim Timothy Colberg; granddaughter, Samantha Brady; grandsons, Beau Brady, Kyle Brady, Jake Brady, T.C. Colberg, and Thomas Colberg; and sister, Selma Morris.

Cheryl L. Cox, 56
Cheryl L. Cox died Oct. 31, 2002, at the Kaiser Hospital in San Diego, Calif. Ms. Cox was born Feb. 23, 1946, in Seldovia, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Darla Kimmell; son, Troy Kimmell; and grandson, Matthew Kimmell.

Minnie A. Dolchok, 76
Minnie A. Dolchok died Oct. 12, 2003, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Fla. Ms. Dolchok was born May 13, 1927. She is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Donna; granddaughters, Julie and Rachael; great-grandchildren, Donna, Amanda, and Tyler; five sisters, Liz, Dot, Anna, Alice, and Rosemary; and four brothers, Frank, Ira, James, and Butch.

Alice Louise Doyle, 75
Alice Louise Doyle died Dec. 28, 2003, at the South Peninsula Hospital’s long-term care facility in Homer, Alaska. Ms. Doyle was born March 31, 1928, in Walla Walla, Wash. She is survived by her sons, Larry Dean Camp and Mark Paul Placek; sisters, Kathleen T. Downs, Mary Jean Strutz, Velma L. Tonkin, and Peggy Perry; brother, Fred W. Yenney; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. According to her family, she was known for her dry humor and a great wit, and her generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to her family.

Mary Irene Graham, 92
Mary Irene Graham died Oct. 15, 2003, at Culpepper Regional Hospital in Culpepper, Virginia. Ms. Graham was born Sept. 26, 1911, in St. Michaels, Alaska. She is survived by her son, James E. Graham, Jr.; sisters, Edna Hestnes and Ruth Ziesing; granddaughters, Nikki Graham and Darla Graham; grandsons, Kurt Graham and David Graham; and many nieces and nephews.

David Allen Grohs, 43
David Allen Grohs died Dec. 5, 2003, in Centralia, Wash. Mr. Grohs was born Jan. 28, 1960, in Ephrata, Wash. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Newton; son, Matthew Goodlataw; mother, Shirley-May Toney; father, Larry Grohs; sister, Vicki Jacobson; and brother, Kerry Grohs.

Roger Emil Jorgensen, 39
Roger Emil Jorgensen died Nov. 24, 2003, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Ore. Mr. Jorgensen was born April 2, 1964, in Juneau, Alaska. He is survived by his parents, Albert and Myrtle Jorgensen; sister, Kamilla Diamond; and brother, Albert Ray Jorgensen.

Ralph Ronald Komakhuk, 57
Ralph Ronald Komakhuk died Oct. 27, 2003, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Komakhuk was born May 22, 1946. He is survived by his daughters, Traci Baird and Allyson Laughlin; mother, Dorothy Komakhuk; sisters, Pearl Komakhuk and Dorothy-Anne Komakhuk; brothers, Westie Komakhuk, Reggie Komakhuk, and Pete Komakhuk; and seven grandchildren.

Beulah Mason, 66
Beulah Mason died Aug. 18, 2003, at her cabin near Kotzebue, Alaska. Ms. Mason was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Noorvik, Alaska. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Comin and Leona Geffe; and sons, Tom Geffe, Wilson Geffe, Conrad Geffe, and Fritz Geffe.

Edward Sidney Sandstrom Sr., 76
Edward Sidney Sandstrom Sr. died Oct. 4, 2003, at Mason General Hospital in Shelton, Wash. Mr. Sandstrom was born April 4, 1927, in Seldovia, Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Sandstrom; daughters, Kora J. Ward, Tonia L. Shumate, and Inez B. Sandstrom; and sons, Edward Sandstrom Jr., Levi C. Sandstrom, and Daniel A. Sandstrom.

Virginia Evelyn Smith, 74
Virginia Evelyn Smith died Nov. 24, 2003, at Corvallis Manor Nursing Home in Corvallis, Ore. Ms. Smith was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Corvallis, Ore. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Wheatley, and her sister, Ellen Daugherty.
