| The 32nd Annual Meeting of CIRI shareholders was
held on Saturday, June 4, 2005, in Anchorage. The CIRI Inspector
of Election announced that the CIRI shareholders had elected the
board-endorsed slate of candidates, which included incumbents B.
Agnes Brown, Roy M. Huhndorf, Patrick M. Marrs, Robert W. Rude,
and first-time director Penny L. Carty.
These Board members, who are all Alaska Native and voting shareholders
of the corporation, will serve three-year terms ending in 2008.
The CIRI Board of Directors also elected the following officers
at its meeting: William C. Prosser, chairman; Charles G. Anderson,
vice chairman; Robert W. Rude, secretary; Robert Singyke, assistant
secretary; Michael R. Boling, treasurer; and Clare Swan, assistant
treasurer. Other directors who continue to serve their remaining
terms are Gosta E. Dagg, William D. English, Thomas P. Huhndorf,
Harold F. Rudolph and Dr. Terry L. Simpson.
"Election of members to the CIRI Board is vital to the governance
of CIRI. We are pleased with this year's election and to have a
board that is working together on behalf of our shareholders and
the good of the company," said CIRI chairman William Prosser.
"The CIRI staff and I look forward to working together with
the Board to carry out CIRI's strategic plan," said Margie
Brown, CIRI president and chief executive officer.
More than 500 shareholders and guests attended this year's Annual
Meeting, held at the Sullivan Arena. There were 589,570.729 shares
of common stock of CIRI outstanding and entitled to be counted for
quorum purposes for the meeting, and a total of 324,269.55 shares
were present in person or represented by proxy at the meeting.
Five resolutions, introduced on the floor by shareholders at the
Annual Meeting, failed to pass. |
