Shareholders Return
Questionnaires to be Eligible for Participation Committees
How much do shareholders know about their corporation? The results
of the Shareholder Participation Committee questionnaire provide
interesting insights into this question. Filled out by shareholders
interested in serving on a Shareholder Participation Committee,
this year's questionnaire consisted of four questions. Shareholders
had to answer all four questions correctly to be eligible to be
included in the drawing to serve on the committee. The four questions,
their answers, and the percentage of shareholders that answered
correctly and incorrectly are shown below (correct answers in bold
blue):
1. Can a CIRI shareholder will his or her CIRI shares to
a non-Native?
- Yes.
- No.
(79% correct, 21% incorrect)
2. Where can you find a list of Shareholder Participation
Committee members?
- On the CIRI
web site.
- In CIRI's proxy statement.
- In CIRI's annual report.
- All of the above.
(62% correct, 38% incorrect)
3. If a shareholder owns 100 voting shares of CIRI stock,
in an election of directors wherein five CIRI directors will be
elected, how many votes can he or she cast?
- 100. (82% correct, 18% incorrect)
- 500.
4. Are all of the members of the CIRI Board of Directors Alaska
Natives?
- Yes.
- No.
(87% correct, 13% incorrect)
A total of 877 questionnaires were filled out. Of those, 791, or
approximately 90 percent, were ineligible because they contained
at least one wrong answer. Eighty-six questionnaires, or 10 percent,
correctly answered all the questions, making those shareholders
eligible for the drawing. |
