Pam Allen, CIRI’s senior director of human resources and administration, presents a check to Father Daniel Andrejuk, as CIRI Senior Corporate Payables Clerk Joann Arroyo and Isaac Stephan, leader of the Elders Transportation Program, observe. Father Daniel is the rector of the parish of St. Tikhon Russian Orthodox Church and worked with CIRI to secure help for their Elders Transportation Program. CIRI’s donation supports the cost of auto insurance, ensuring Southcentral elders receive transportation to hospital appointments, the airport and grocery stores. The program has been successful since starting up last year. Special thanks goes to Stephan, who drives and makes arrangements with elders, and Arroyo, who volunteers her time to do the church’s accounting. The majority of St. Tikhon Russian Orthodox Church members are Alaska Native.
