CIRI
Board-Endorsed Candidates
|
| CHARLES G. ANDERSON, Aleut
CIRI Director since 1987
Retired Anchorage Chief of Police
“Serving on the CIRI Board gives me a tremendous feeling
of pride and responsibility. I have dedicated myself to sound business
principles that strike a balance between maintaining a successful
corporation and providing shareholders with a consistent stream
of dividends, as well as opportunities for education, housing, and
employment through CIRI-affiliated non-profits. During the past
few years, CIRI has paid out over a half billion dollars in dividends
to shareholders, and over time has become a symbol of success. At
CIRI, we have a Board and management team that is dedicated to the
responsible stewardship of our corporation and its resources. I
look forward to continuing to serve on the CIRI Board and will always
be mindful of my responsibility to current and future shareholders.”

| MICHAEL R. BOLING, Athabascan
CIRI Director since 1998
Attorney
“I attribute CIRI’s success to the foresight of current
and past board members who made thoughtful and diligent decisions
based on long-term planning. The VoiceStream investment was a seven-year
process resulting in the largest dividend in CIRI’s history.
The Board exceeded its promise to distribute half the proceeds of
the sale to shareholders, while retaining capital for future growth.
I understand the need for the corporation to provide distributions
for shareholders today, but I also believe in planning for the future.
Like my mother, I want my children to participate in a vibrant,
profitable company that serves to strengthen our Native heritage.”

| RONALD G. PERRY, Tlingit
CIRI Director Since 1999
President, Microware Computers, Inc.
“I would like to thank you for the privilege of serving on
the CIRI Board. My four years as a director have been very exciting,
distinguished by the VoiceStream investment, the opening of three
new resort hotels and a casino, four major special distributions,
and a significant increase in The CIRI Foundation endowment. I believe
my personal experience and the challenges of owning and operating
a successful computer services company for 14 years have provided
me with the real-world experience needed to make sound business
decisions. As I look to the future, my three children are constant
reminders of the need for long-term planning in order to leave a
legacy for the next generation. I envision CIRI remaining a financially
strong corporation that continues to create opportunities for shareholders
through jobs, dividends, and education.”

“ANCSA was a promise to all generations. I believe in balancing
the needs of paying dividends for shareholders today with growing
the company for future generations. I am proud to be part of the
Board that invested in VoiceStream, and ultimately paid the largest
tax-free dividend in the history of a regional corporation. I believe
by working together we can continue to achieve great things for
shareholders, more so than one person could do alone. It has been
my privilege to serve shareholders this past six years and I hope
