Wesley Gilbert Anaruk Sr., 68
Wesley Gilbert Anaruk Sr. died Aug. 9, 2004 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Mr. Anaruk was born Sept. 11, 1935 in White Mountain, Alaska. He is survived by his ex-wife, Mary S. Anaruk; daughters, Amanda J. Anaruk, Beatrice “Alexis” Anaruk; daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Ricky Tocktoo; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Christina Anaruk; sons, Benjamin Anaruk and Wesley G. Anaruk Jr.; sisters, Viva Kinegak and Ebba Raos; brother, Samuel Anaruk; ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita D. Belio, 59
Juanita D. Belio died May 22, 2004 at home in Wasilla, Alaska. Ms. Belio was born July 31, 1944 in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Craig Houston. According to her family, her fondest memories were of homesteading in Eagle River Valley and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Joann Boone, 48
Joann Boon died July 11, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Wash. Ms. Boone was born June 27, 1956 in Anchorage. She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Boone; sons, Kyle Boone, Andy Tomlinson and David Tomlinson; and sisters, Nancy Boren and Gaynell Gauthier.

Joan Elva Corliss, 73
Joan Elva Corliss died June 17, 2001 at home in Anchorage. Ms. Corliss was born Jan. 29, 1931 in Anchorage. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lyon; son, Ron Naanes; graddaughter, Sunny Remmy; and brothers, Gerald Brown and John Brown. According to her family, she was instrumental in the development of the Alaska Federation of Natives and served as the first executive secretary and as a board member of their original executive board. In 1968, she gave testimony during the hearings on Alaska Native Land Claims on Interior and Insular Affairs made up of several federal legislators, receiving a standing ovation for the strength and conviction of her remarks.

Daniel Keith Franken, 35
Daniel Keith Franken died June 2, 2004 at home in Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Franken was born April 20, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is survived by his daughter, Kaylee Franken; mother, Barbara Jean Humphrey; father Robert Anton Franken; and sisters, Nicole Franken, Olivia Franken and Michelle Walker.

Robert Allen Hoeldt, 50
Robert Allen Hoeldt died Aug. 12, 2004 at his brother’s home in Anchorage. Mr. Hoeldt was born Oct. 16, 1953 in Anchorage. He is survived by his daughter, Jessie Hoeldt; sons, Joshua Hoeldt and Justin Hoeldt; mother, Shirley Hislop; sisters, Rhonda Baysinger, Dawn Sanchez and Michelle Thies brothers, Lee Hoeldt, Randy Hoeldt, Rodney Hoeldt, Rorey Hoeldt and Ryan Heoldt; his ex-wife, Debbie Strickland; and his girlfriend, Monica Brisquetts.

Everett F. Hudson Jr., 61
Everett F. Hudson Jr. died Aug. 16, 2004 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Mr. Hudson was born Aug. 14, 1943 in Metlakatla, Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Judy Hudson; daughters, Kimberly Kinnebrew and Kandice Meyer; sister Josi Hudson; grandchildren, Braden Kinnebrew, Cameron Kinnebrew, Kamry Meyer, Kelsey Meyer and Trenton Meyer; and nephew, Fred Hudson.

Irene Ruth King, 75
Irene Ruth King died June 24, 2004 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Ms. King was born April 30, 1929 in Deering, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth; sons, Gene and Michael; sisters, Ida Curtis and Louse Moto; bother, Michael Mendenhall; granddaughter, Holly; great-grandchildren, Marin, Logan and William. Much love and gratitude to Sue Sharp (niece) and Michael for the care and nurturing given to our mother Irene after the passing of her beloved Robert.

Nancy Irene Tobar Koschmann, 52
Nancy Irene Tobar Koschmann died July 12, 2004 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Ms. Koschmann was born July 15, 1951. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Chris Joseph; grandsons, Cameron, Cashaun and Christian Joseph; siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Selma Bergine Morris, 75
Selma Bergine Morris died July 5, 2004 at home in Tacoma, Wash. Ms. Morris was born May 18, 1929 in Seldovia, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl B. Knapp; grandchildren, Bradley G. Burgin, Lisa G. Lambert and Ron M. Lambert; and great-granddaughter, Alisha R. Burgin.

Larry E. Oskolkoff, 63
Larry E. Oskolkoff died Aug. 1, 2004, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Mr. Oskolkoff was born May 19, 1941 in Alaska. He is survived by his son, Larry E. Oskolkoff II; sisters, Judy Belcher, Sharon Culhae, Linda Henrikson, and Loretta Throop; and brothers Eric Encelewski, Grant Encelewski, and Richard Greg Encelewski. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry M. Oskolkoff; and mother, Fedora Encelewski.

Roy Fridiman Ronholdt Jr., 56
Roy Fridiman Ronholdt Jr. died July 27, 2004 at home in Anchorage. Mr. Ronholdt was born January 13, 1948 in Anchorage. He is survived by his sister, Roylene Ann (Ronholdt) McElroy; brothers, John Olaf Ronholdt and Robert Gerard Ronholdt; niece, Angela McElroy; and nephews, Bryan McElroy, Craig McElroy, Duane McElroy and Michael Otte.

Raymond H. Tremblay, 77
Raymond H. Tremblay died Aug. 23, 2004 at home in Anchorage. Mr. Tremblay was born Sept. 27, 1926 in Cambridge, Mass. He is survived by his wife, Elise; daughters, Yvonne Brayko, Suzanne Birdsall, Monique DiVincenzo, Renee Redman and Michelle Tremblay; and 11 grandchildren.

Andrew Wik, 86
Andrew Wik died Aug. 18, 2004 at home in Anchorage. Mr. Wik was born May 16, 1918 in Kenai, Alaska. Mr. Wik is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Karen Roland; and grandson, Colton Roland. According to his family, his zest for life was evident in everything he did, both in his career and care of the family.

Margaret D. Wirz, 78
Margaret D. Wirz died July 26, 2004 at home in Kenai, Alaska. Ms. Wirz was born in Squaw Harbor, Alaska. She is survived by her daughters, Penny L. Carty, Charmaine J. Lundy and Annie J. Wirz; and sons, Robert S. Wirz and Gary E. Wirz.
