Kathy Helen Wright, Office Manager of The CIRI Foundation

CIRI shareholder Kathy Wright is The CIRI Foundation's office manager. Born and raised in Anchorage, Wright is of Athabascan and Russian heritage. As office manager, Wright is responsible for organizing and supervising office operations and procedures including clerical and administrative tasks, ordering and stocking office supplies, ensuring office equipment operates, assisting with scholarship and grant application processing, and training staff on operating office equipment.

Wright is the daughter of CIRI shareholder Jenny Lee Runstetler, who is originally from Old Illiamna, and Alvin Wilber Runstetler, who came to Alaska in the 1940s and was born in Cambridge, Idaho. Wright has two half sisters, Sealaska shareholder MaryAnn Peplinski of Monrovia, Maryland, and CIRI shareholder Susan Benyish of Honolulu, Hawaii. Wright has four children: Nicodemus Marsing, 24; Justin Marsing, 22; Tina Wright, 15; and 9-year-old Emily Wright. Her husband is Michael Wright, who is originally from Panora, Iowa.

Wright graduated in 1994 from the Alaska Junior College with an associate's degree in computerized office management. In December, she will reach a milestone of six years of employment with The CIRI Foundation. She enjoys her job because it is a good feeling to see students benefit from The CIRI Foundation's educational funding. Outside of work, she enjoys music, fishing, computers, and her family.
