In early June, a Canadian film crew, Natural Mysteries Production, Inc., filmed aboard Kenai Fjords Tours. Footage produced while aboard the vessels will be used for a Discovery Channel International program, which is scheduled to air in the U.S. over Thanksgiving weekend.
Under contract, the Ontario-based crew shot footage for a two-hour television special called "Earth's Wonders," a travel-based documentary showcasing present day natural wonders of the world. Kenai Fjords National Park was identified among the top 10 natural wonders for the show, which includes the Great Barrier Reef, Sahara Desert, Niagra Falls, and the Amazon River.

The film crew was able to capture unusual shots, including an Orca whale breaching beside the boat and an abundance of calving activity from the Holegate Glacier. Other animals viewed included seabirds and marine mammals such as sea otters, Steller sea lions, porpoise, and humpback whales.
