CIRI shareholder
Dean Kvasnikoff, owner of Alaska Native Resource Consultants, received
the Society of American Forestry Award for Outstanding Forest Practices
while supervising the timber harvesting on CIRI and Ninilchik Native Association,
Inc. (NNAI) lands. Kvasnikoff is a Ninilchik resident and timber consultant
for NNAI.

Baby Joseph Joseph Benjamin Barcelona was born at the Sutter Davis Hospital September 24, 1997 to Ronald Joseph Barcelona and Rose Marie Barcelona. Joseph weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long. |

Celebrating 40th Anniversary CIRI shareholder Vassa White and her husband Jerry celebrate their 40th anniversary this month. Vassa, the daughter of Mike and Dora Kudrin, and Jerry married on April 11, 1959 at the Native Baptist Church of Anchorage. Vassa is a retired nurse after 31 years and Jerry is retired from the Air Force and Chevron after 21 years. They have two boys, Jay and Mike, and five grandchildren. |

Baby Kayla Kayla Marie
Giles was born March 30, 1998 at Providence Hospital. She is the daughter
of CIRI shareholder Elsie Standifer and Nicholas Giles and the sister
of Brandon Giles, who is almost three years of age. Kayla weighed 7
pounds, one once at birth.

Baby Denielle Denielle Sophia
Christenson was born July 28, 1998 to CIRI shareholder Curtiss Christenson
and his wife Gloria. Denielle was born in Vacaville, Cal. and weighed
seven pounds, 13 ounces at birth.

CIRI Descendant
Sings with others from Pacific Shiela Isaak,
daughter of shareholder Sharon Isaak, was selected as a member of
the 1999 All-Northwest Honor Groups. Sponsored by the National Association
of Music Education, the All-Northwest Band, Orchestra, and Choirs
performed in Portland's Memorial Coliseum in February. Shiela, a junior
at Skyview High School in Soldotna, Alaska, is an alto singer in the
honor choir.

Baby Ethan CIRI shareholder
Brenda Rowell and Tim Carrico announce the birth of their son, Ethan Lee
Rowell-Carrico. Ethan was born August 12, 1998 at Suburban Hospital in
Louisville, Kentucky. He weighed eight pounds, 15 ounces and was 22 inches.

Baby Veronica CIRI shareholder
E. Yvonne Mueller and her husband Ron are the proud parents of Veronica
Leigh Mueller, born February 3 in Juneau, Alaska. Baby Veronica weighed
eight pounds, eight ounces and measured 21 and a half inches at birth.
The Muellers also have a daughter Linda.

Wedding CIRI shareholders
Maxine Anaruk and Harvey Beltz were married October 9, 1998,
in Anchorage. Mr. and Mrs.
Beltz reside in Anchorage with their three daughters Carolyn, Amy, and
Chelsey Beltz. They also have one son, Ricky, who lives in Kailua Kona,
Hawaii, where the couple spent their honeymoon. Mr. Beltz has another
daughter, Brenetta Beltz, who lives in Dillingham, Alaska.

Private Christopher Christopher Donald
Ross of Nikiski, Alaska has completed basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.
Christopher is the eldest son of shareholder Evelyn Betz and the grandson
of Alexander (Joe) Ross I and the late Freda Jane Ross of Kenai, Alaska.
He is now at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, in Maryland, in advanced instructional
training and learning small wheel maintenance
