Expansion begins this summer for CIRI Tourism's most popular visitor destinations and tour operations. The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, Seward Windsong Lodge, and Alaska Heritage Tours are expanding operations, beginning this summer.
The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is expanding its great room, restaurant and meeting areas, as well as adding another 100 rooms to the 98 the lodge has now. During its first season, the Lodge exceeded expectations with the "visiting friends and relatives" market. However, for this summer season, the Lodge is anticipating increased revenue from travelers who have booked complete packages with tour companies to include a night at the Lodge.
"The demand for the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge in the short term has surpassed our expectations," said Dennis Brandon, vice president of tourism for CIRI. "We anticipate continued growth as more people discover the Lodge setting. It is ideally situated to provide visitors with panoramic views of Denali and a variety of activities out of the nearby town of Talkeetna."
The Seward Windsong Lodge will add 36 new rooms for a total of 108 when renovations are complete in 2001. A larger lobby, increased baggage storage, gathering rooms, an espresso shop and gift store will also be added to better serve guests. The Lodge's popular restaurant, Resurrection Roadhouse, is currently being expanded and will be complete by mid-May for the summer season.

The popularity of CIRI's direct deposit program has increased as more and more shareholders choose this method of payment when dividends are distributed. The CIRI Board of Directors declared a first quarter 2000 dividend of $6.28 per share, and shareholders owning 100 shares of stock received a payment of $628. Checks were mailed on March 31, and amounts were electronically transmitted to the bank accounts of shareholders, having signed up for direct deposit, by the end of that same business day. Just over 31percent of the total first quarter distribution was direct-deposited.
|
If you are
signed up for direct deposit, please note that when there are any changes
made to your bank account information, distribution of your dividend
could be delayed if CIRI has not been informed about the changes before
the distribution deadline. Therefore, please contact the Shareholder
Relations department immediately with respect to any changes made to
your designated bank account - including a changed account number or
an account closure. The non-negotiable vouchers cannot be cashed; they
are mailed as a receipt to show how much was deposited.
