Elizabeth Shetter, Executive Assistant, Administration
During her first year as executive assistant for the CIRI administration department, CIRI descendent Elizabeth Shetter has assisted the vice president of administration, CIRI historian, public relations manager, and the community relations specialist.

She enjoys her work environment and particularly enjoys the public relations aspects of her job. Shetter describes herself as a person who likes being on the cutting edge and finds working in public relations keeps her informed of upcoming events. In the near future, she plans to take courses in business administration and journalism at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Elizabeth is of Yup'ik Eskimo and Pennsylvania Dutch descent. Her mother, CIRI shareholder Barbara Kameroff Shetter, is originally from Saint Mary's located on the Yukon River, and her father, James, is from East Berlin, Penn. She is the youngest of three children.

Shetter enjoys spending time with her two children: a six-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter. Her son loves to play soccer and her daughter has just started ballet classes. A favorite family outing during the summer months is biking along Anchorage's coastal trail. When they can, Shetter and her children also like to travel. She feels it's important that her children have a broad-based sense of the world and are aware of other peoples' heritage and cultures.

Shetter also enjoys trying out exotic gourmet recipes and likes to be creative while experimenting with new foods. In line with her cooking, she swims laps to stay in shape and for relaxation. She also likes to bowl and recently participated in a bowling fundraiser for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Anchorage. As team captain of the "CIRI's Angels," Shetter said a good time was had by all and she was glad to help raise money for such a worthy cause, especially one that will help children.
