The annual CIRI potlatches are scheduled for this fall in Anchorage, on the Kenai Peninsula, and in the Pacific Northwest. The Northwest Potlatch is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14, at Chief Leschi School in Puyallup, Wash. The Anchorage Friendship Potlatch will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at Romig Middle School, and the Kenai Peninsula Potlatch is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, at Kenai Central High School. Artists Tables Available at the Friendship Potlatch
in Anchorage

In preparation for the Anchorage Friendship Potlatch, CIRI is seeking
Alaska Native artists who are interested in selling their arts and crafts
at the annual potlatch. A limited number of tables are available at no
charge on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a table, contact

Past recipients of this prestigious award have included Lillian Lapp, 2001; Daisy Demien-tieff, 2000 and 1995; Emil Dolchok, 1999; Janie Leask, 1998; Joseph Oskolkoff, 1997; and Howard Wilson, 1996. Each of these award winners was nominated by fellow shareholders in com-mendation for exem-plifying dedication to Alaska's Native culture and heritage. CIRI bestows upon an admirable shareholder the title of Shareholder of
the Year for helping to promote the pride in Alaska Native cultural heritage,
demonstrating a commitment to the economic and social well-being of Native
people, and/or working to preserve Native customs, folklore, and traditional
