Inlet Housing Authority's Strawberry Village Cottages Nearly Complete |
|||||
"Part of what makes Strawberry Village Cottages so unique is that the homes are technically town-homes, that don't share any common walls," notes Cook Inlet Housing Authority President and Chief Executive Officer Carol Gore. After 15 years, Cook Inlet Housing Authority intends to offer the cottages up for sale, but as in a town-home or condominium environment, home-owners will not actually purchase any land. They will own only the actual structure. The project is aimed at serving members of the community who might not otherwise have the opportunity to own a single-family, detached home.
According to Jeff Judd, Cook Inlet Housing Authority director of operations and asset management, interest in the project has been high, but applications are still available by contacting Cook Inlet Housing Authority. "We've had an excellent response to this project, but it's not too late to reserve your space in the community," Judd said. "We're really encouraging people to check out this new program and see if it's right for them." Applicants must provide verification of all sources of income and three months of bank statements. Credit histories are reviewed and personal and rental references are required. More information is available from CIHA at (907) 276-8822. |
