  • Accounting Intern
    The accounting intern is responsible for general accounting support including accounts payable and receivable processing, data entry, reconciliations, account analysis, and filing. Under supervision of the accounting manager, this position will gain exposure to the preparation of basic financial statements and other reporting, including updating quarterly individual company financial statements; bank reconciliation back up support; general accounts receivable processing support; in-state commercial deposit processing backup support; and assisting with the processing of general accounts payable including verification of accounting codes, reconciliation to vendor statements, processing payments, and filing. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and one year of college education with basic accounting classes, one year of practical accounting experience, or any combination of education and experience to equal one year progressively responsible accounting experience. Must be enrolled in college and seeking a degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance. Hours will be 16 - 20hrs weekly, and will work around class schedule.
  • Project Accountant
    The project accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting related to designated industries/affiliates within the CIRI structure and support as assigned for CIRI's overall accounting and reporting requirements. Duties include recording monthly operating results and recurring entries, reviewing coding on invoices, reviewing monthly transaction registers, reconciling intercompany and other general ledger accounts, recording equity income to parent and review of monthly financial statements, and reconciling subsidiary companies' subsidiary account ledgers to general ledgers. This position maintains data bases for designated projects and provides project reports; monitors budget-to-actual performance on designated projects and operations; assists with annual and mid-year budget compilation; prepares schedules and workpapers for annual financial audits of CIRI and subsidiaries; and is responsible for fixed asset recording and reconciliation for designated segments within the CIRI structure. This position requires an undergraduate degree in accounting and three years accounting experience; or two years college education (prefer intermediate accounting) and five years progressively more responsible accounting experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

CBS News Offers College Internships

CBS News is offering a limited number of internships for undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in journalism, broadcast and communications schools. Internships are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis in New York, NY; Washington, DC, Miami, Fla.; and Atlanta, Ga. for the following shows: Evening News, 60 Minutes, 60 Minutes II, The Early Show, 48 Hours, The Saturday Early Show, Sunday Morning, Face The Nation, CBS Productions, CBS Newspath, Public Relations, Promotions and CBS Radio News. Duties include but are not limited to: logging tapes, coordinating scripts, research, viewer mail and clerical duties.

Applicants must be attending an accredited college, entering junior or senior years and majoring in broadcast journalism or mass communication. Applicants should have basic computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and have a GPA of 3.0. Other eligible majors are English, political science, computer science, public relations and international studies.

CBS must receive written confirmation from the applicantıs college stating that participants are receiving course credit for the internship. This letter must be on file on or before the first day of work. Participation in the internship program is not a guarantee of future employment. ABC Daytime Fellowship Program

ABC Daytime has demonstrated a long-time commitment to the development of new creative talent and to the employment of culturally and ethnically diverse new writers. ABC daytime is looking for up to two writers to work developing their craft at ABC Daytime.

Fellowships in story development for Daytime drama are available with no previous experience necessary; however, writing samples are required. Fellows will each be provided a flat weekly salary of $653.85 ($34,000 annualized) for a one-year period tentatively scheduled to begin January 2002. Fellows chosen outside the New York area will be provided round-trip airfare and one monthıs accommodations.
