Island Wilderness Camp Customer Service Staff
Growler Island
customer service staff is responsible for performing multiple tasks
required for day lodge and overnight lodge activities. Duties include
food preparation and service, clearing, beverage service, gift shop
retail sales, as well as cleaning and maintaining facilities. All work
performed at remote wilderness campsites outside of Valdez. For more

Vessel
Cleaning/Stocking Staff
Vessel cleaning/stocking
staff is needed in Valdez and Whittier. Staff members are responsible
for cleaning the interior and exterior of vessels and for providing
supply support to the tour boats and building facilities. Duties include
receiving and checking in stock items, completing regular inventories
and maintaining an orderly and clean warehouse. Applicants must be able

Transportation
Van and bus
drivers are needed in Valdez and Whittier for regularly scheduled transport
between company parking lot, hotels and cruise ships. Drivers will maintain
clean and mechanically sound vehicles, communicate via radio with the
office and operations personnel, and direct traffic and space control
in the company parking lot. A commercial driver's license is preferred.

Food
Service Manager, Growler Island Camp
This position
is for the period of April 15 through September 30. The food service
manager coordinates a staff of at least four prep cooks and supervises
the production of a quality meal at Growler Island Camp for day guests,
all meals for overnight guests and the lunches served on board the vessels
that do not visit Growler Island Camp. This position also oversees weekly
ordering and daily monitoring of the inventory needed to produce meals,
ensuring the kitchen and service areas are in full compliance with regulations
set forth by the

Alaska Department
of Environmental Conservation, and working with the camp manager to

Whittier
Operations Manager
This position
is for the period of April 15 through September 30. The Whittier operations
manager is responsible for ensuring the success of vessel transportation
in and out of Whittier and the daily ticket office/gift store operations.
It is essential to have a working knowledge of and experience in the
tourism industry, experience managing and coordinating employees, and
the ability to monitor multiple tasks. This position requires a current
CDL, computer skills and a willingness to reside the majority of the

Consortium Introduces New Opportunities
The Alaska
Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) has several new employment and
scholarship opportunities available for Alaska Native and Native Americans
through its Tribal Support Services division. The first opportunity
is a new internship program that will be introduced this June, offering
employment opportunities for 20 high school and college students. A
separate program will also be available for five graduate students under
the graduate employment program. A new scholarship program is also being
introduced and will award up to five $2,500 semester scholarships for
graduate students.
