In the summer of 2001, Larsen received her bachelor's degree in English with a focus in literature from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She's found her English degree has inspired her with confidence and provided an intellectual foundation that has enriched her life in many ways. She is also continuing her studies at UAA by taking journalism, public relations and advertising classes.

Larsen looks forward to buying a house through Cook Inlet Housing Authority for her and her nine-year-old daughter Victoria. When not working, she enjoys sewing kuspuks, reading, and spending time with her daughter.
