Accounting Clerk
This position is responsible for bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and general accounting support to include data entry, filing, and reporting requirements. The minimum requirements are one or two years college education with basic accounting classes and one year practical experience in accounting or two years progressively responsible accounting experience; or any combination of education and experience to meet the requirements.
Applications Specialist (Tourism)
This position reports to the manager of management information systems and is responsible for performing analysis, diagnostics, development, installation, debugging, testing and documentation of existing or proposed systems, and devising computer programs, system and related procedures to process data. Prepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowcharts. Supports end users directly and indirectly in use of applications. Ensures that the administrative systems provide the services required to meet the business needs and ensures integrity of the database structures. The minimum requirements for this position are an undergraduate degree in information technology, business administration or equivalent and three to five years of business and technical experience; or any combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Working knowledge of accounting, various software packages, programming and supervision preferred.
The CIRI Foundation Seeks Program Officer
The CIRI Foundation is recruiting for the new position of program officer. This position will manage and administer the scholarship and grant programs; utilize discretionary decision-making in developing recommendations for scholarship/grant programs; and be responsible for the development and implementation of specific projects using knowledge of good business practices, policies, and organization. The program officer will assist the president/CEO with overall program and administration activities including outreach activities concerning Alaska Native education issues supported by the Foundation.
Minimum qualifications include a four-year degree in education, business, public relations or other appropriate area of study preferred; three years of progressively responsible work experience; or any combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Executive Director Needed for American Indian Higher Education Consortium
The American Indian Higher Education Consortium is currently looking for an executive director for its Alexandria, Va. office. The executive director directs and manages all functions of the AIHEC central office, including a staff of 10 professionals, and reports to the Consortium's 33-member board of directors. Candidates must have demonstrated record of successfully advancing congressional and federal agency advocacy agendas, hands-on grant proposal and management experience with public and private funding sources, a deep understanding of American Indian culture, tradition, and education issues, and proven personnel and financial management experience. In addition, the person selected must be able to serve as spokesperson and inspire, motivate and lead the organization. A master's degree is required, while a doctorate is preferred. Earn a Master's Degree in Rural Development
The Department of Alaska Native and Rural Development in the College of Rural Alaska at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is accepting applications for the new Master of Arts Program in Rural Development. This innovative new graduate program will build on the success of the Bachelor of Arts program in Rural Development and is directed at managers and leaders serving

rural Alaska communities or other indigenous communities in the circumpolar North. Classes will be offered through distance education modes as well as through intensive face-to-face seminars, individualized study and regular classroom instruction. The first class of MA students will begin in the fall of 2000 with a ten-day symposium on "Circumpolar Indigenous Leadership."
Requirements for admission to the program include a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least a 3.0 ("B") cumulative grade point average in undergraduate studies, and a 3.0 ("B") average in major. Bachelor's degrees should be in rural development, Alaska Native studies, business administration, natural resources management, political science, economics, northern studies or a related field.
