| CIRI descendant Wendell Taylor says, he loves his job and likes to be on the go. As a CIRI courier he is responsible for all deliveries, maintaining company vehicles and assisting at company events.
Taylor was born and raised in Anchorage and is a graduate of Service High School. He is of Tlingit and Alutiiq heritage and his Tlingit clan is Eagle. His mother, Martha, was born in Kodiak while his father, James, originally came from Texas. In high school, Taylor excelled at football, where he was a linebacker. Though football is still one of his favorite sports, he also enjoys hiking, biking, camping and getting outdoors whenever he can. One of his favorite things to do is ride his mountain bike up and then back down Flattop Mountain, which he says is an excellent cardio and leg workout. While getting up the mountain can be tough, he says the view is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the hard work. When he's not riding up and down mountains, he likes to ride his bike along the scenic Anchorage Coastal Trail. According to Taylor, one of the best times to ride along the ocean trail is when the tide is high. He says mountain biking has taught him that the process of getting there is what it's all about. |
