Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, Food & Beverage Manager
The management of the new 98-room Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, opening May 1, 1999, is seeking a food and beverage manager with a customer service priority. This person must be a hands-on manager capable of building great rapport with customers and staff, and experienced in hiring, training, and motivating a professional restaurant. CIHA Seeks Procurement Officer
Cook Inlet Housing Authority is accepting applications for the position of Procurement Officer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, purchasing, preparation of invitations for bids, requests for proposals, service and term contracts, as well as negotiating contracts and property/inventory control.
All procurement activities shall be conducted in accordance with HUD regulations and standards as well as CIHA policies and procedures. This full-time position reports directly to the Deputy Director and coordinates all procurement activities with all department heads. Contracting duties shall be responsible for all purchasing and contracting opportunities for CIHA with a multi-million dollar annual budget. Native Artists and Culture Bearers Sought
Cook Inlet Tribal Council's Cultural Education Department is seeking Native artists and culture bearers to perform for and conduct workshops at child care centers, schools, elder lunch sites, hospitals, prisons, youth shelters, and other community sites.
In its first six months, Cultural Education has presented more than 200 performances and workshops to 10,000+ children, elders and other adults. Participating Native artists and culture bearers have included Yupik, Inupiat, Athabascan, Eyak, Aleut, Tlingit, and American Indians. Art forms have included drumming, dancing, singing, storytelling, beading, parka making, carving, and language instruction through puppet shows.
Participants are paid a stipend for each performance or workshop. A limited number of cross-cultural performances and workshops are provided by CITC, and Afro-American, Latino, Asian and other ethnic artists and culture bearers are also encouraged to apply. NIEA Seeks Executive Director
The National Indian Education Association (NIEA) is seeking an executive director. Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in education or public policy and three years experience managing or directing a national non-profit organization is preferred.

Executive Assistant Opening
The Association of ANCSA Regional Corporation Presidents/CEOs, Inc. is seeking applicants for an executive assistant.
General Functions: Provides administrative and related support services for Executive Director and records meeting procedures. Correspondence, production of reports/other materials; answering incoming calls, opening and distributing mail. Assists in the development of agendas for Presidents/CEOs meetings, prepares meeting materials, and serves as recording secretary for meetings. Responsible for meeting notices and correspondence. Maintains all records (books, meetings, resolutions, informational packets, Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation). Assists the executive director with scheduling appointments and meetings and maintaining daily schedule. Provides support on other related or similar duties as required.
Skills/Abilities: Types 70 wpm, possesses thorough knowledge of general business formats and procedures, and must be proficient on IBM compatible PCs (Microsoft Office 97 to include Word, Excel, Power Point; and FileMaker Pro). Expert knowledge of proper grammar and spelling, good vocabulary, editing and proofreading skills. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Must have excellent telephone etiquette, ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment, general knowledge of legal procedures, and knowledge of ANCSA and Alaska in general. Ability to work effectively with regional corporations and other contacts.
Minimum Experience: High School education, business college and a minimum of five years experience as an executive secretary or other progressively responsible secretarial position; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
