| Heritage Center Seeks Summer Employees | |
| The Alaska Native Heritage Center is recruiting for summer season employees. Full- and part-time positions are available for guest service hosts, village site hosts and maintenance. Employment begins in May and continues through September. Applicants must enjoy providing the best customer service to guests and be knowledgeable of Alaska Native cultures. | Peak Offers Summer Hire Program | |
| Are you a continuing college student who is looking for summer employment? Do you have a sense of adventure and like to work outdoors? The application deadline is April 20 for the Peak Oilfield Service Co. summer hire program. Students who have completed at least one year of college and are planning to return to college are eligible to apply.
The summer season is divided into two, six-week work sessions: early June through mid-July and mid-July through late August. Work sessions are on Alaska's North Slope and average 12-hour work days. Responsibilities include picking up garbage, putting reflectors in the road, filling sandbags and performing other duties as required. Students are housed at base camp in a dormitory setting with air transportation to and from the North Slope and meals provided. | U-DOC High School Summer Enrichment Program | |
| The application deadline to apply for U-DOC, a six-week summer enrichment program at the University of Alaska Anchorage for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a medical career is April 10, 2001. Late applications are considered, if available positions (10 to 12 students) are not filled. This program is designed for rural, minority or economically or educationally disadvantaged students. It prepares students for college and gives participants a competitive edge in getting into medical school. Offered in cooperation with the University of Washington School of Medicine, the program offers each student a stipend of $1,600 upon successful completion of the program in July.

| Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is now giving undergraduate scholarships for those interested in pursuing careers in health care. Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium education and development opportunities are available to Alaska Native and American Indian high school, undergraduate and graduate students.
