| Ann Gibbs is the new shareholder communications specialist in the CIRI Shareholder Relations department where she acts as a liaison between shareholders and the corporation. An important part of her job is to field the various questions that shareholders have regarding CIRI. Gibbs says, "I enjoy my job because I'm a people person." | |
| Gibbs, who is of Athabascan and Aleut descent, is a shareholder of CIRI as well as the Kenaitze Indian Tribe and the Kenai Natives Association. She was born and reared in Kenai where she was the middle child of two sisters and two brothers. Her parents are Gloria Wik and the late Gabe Juliussen Sr.
She characterizes the Kenai she knew in childhood as being a small town with a lot of charm and a place where she's related to many members of the community. Gibbs says, even now, Kenai still retains a rare, special beauty and unique rural character.
With the help of a CIRI Foundation scholarship, Gibbs attended Kenai Peninsula College for two years. From there, she went on to the University of Alaska Anchorage where, in 1995, she earned a bachelor's degree in natural science with a minor in psychology. Married with one daughter, Gibbs and her family enjoy spending time in the Kenai area. In the summer, she likes to fish the Swanson River for reds, silvers and rainbows. Last spring, in what she describes as a fun and memorable event, she caught 104 hooligan on the Kenai River with her dad's handmade bamboo net. |
