| When you call the Shareholder Relations department, the new voice answering belongs to CIRI shareholder Will Knox. On April 18, 2001, he joined Shareholder Relations as the shareholder records coordinator. In this position, he is responsible for greeting shareholders; assisting with change of address paperwork, direct deposit applications, and power of attorney issues; and updating the shareholder database. Will, who looks forward to his new job responsibilities, said, "I'm honored to have the opportunity to work in the Shareholder Relations department and to work with fellow shareholders."
Will joined CIRI three years ago as an intern for the Administration department. Later, he was hired as a full-time courier, a job that kept him busy and on the run. Will is of Athabascan heritage and was born and raised in Anchorage. He enjoys sports, especially hockey and golf. In high school, he played defense for his hockey team. At a hockey school in Minnesota, which he attended for three consecutive summers, he got to meet and work with Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks. The high energy and teamwork of hockey inspired his self-confidence. Will graduated from Dimond High School in 1998. Afterward, he attended the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Will has one sister, Allison, and he is the son of Sharon and the late William V. Knox. His father, Bill, originally came from Ruby, Alaska. His grandmother, Florence Pitka Knox, was born in Rampart. In the fall of 1982, when Will was 14 years old, he went on his first moose hunt near Ruby with his father and another relative, Emmitt Peters. This was special for him because it was the very same area his grandfather, Charles Knox, used to trap. Will says it was a wonderful time because that year with his father's help, he got his first moose. |
