Michael Kashevarof once ran his own coffee shop in Anchorage, roasting his own coffee beans and sparking an interest in accounting at the same time. That led him to pursue a career in bookkeeping, working in CIRI's accounting department for the last three years.
He's become quite successful at it. Less than two years into the job, Kashevarof was promoted to senior corporate payables clerk. "It's a job I find enjoyable and fulfilling. CIRI people are great to work with," said Kashevarof, adding his appreciation for the unique work experience CIRI has offered him.
A lifelong Alaskan and West High graduate, Kashevarof is a CIRI shareholder of Aleut descent. He grew up in Anchorage and Seldovia, and is also a shareholder in the Seldovia Native Association.

Coffee and numbers aren't his only interests. He's also intrigued with different cultures and languages. He spent six months in Spain. He's also been to Argentina, Brazil and France, all travels that have helped him gain a better understanding of place and culture. Where might he go next? Well, currently, he's learning Russian.
