| Marine Field Trips Designed for Students |
Kenai Fjords Tours has successfully operated this field-trip program out of Seward since 1994. Since then, more than 19,000 Alaska students have traveled aboard the m/v Fjordland as marine science explorers. The five-hour field trips allow students to explore the marine environment. The program is divided between cruising Resurrection Bay and participating in four learning stations focusing on analyzing seawater and plankton, learning about seabird and marine mammal adaptations and learning about the fjord's ecosystem. Groups of five to 80 students can be accommodated in one trip. Reservations are being taken for field trips beginning April 16 through June 7, 2002. For more information about the Marine Science Program or to schedule a field trip, contact Leslie Hines toll-free in Alaska at (800) 478-8068 ext. 4554 or email kftscience@ciri.com. |
