From Seward, Kenai Fjords Tours is operating wildlife cruises in Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park through the month of November. Visitors on these cruises explore the cliffs and coves of Resurrection Bay and have an opportunity to view wildlife and learn about the natural history of the area. North of Anchorage, the expanded Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge also remains open for business. Through December, the lodge is offering a couple of specials: the Saturday Stowaway package includes accommodations and a roundtrip train ride from Anchorage to Talkeetna on the Alaska Railroad. In addition, the lodge is offering a special midweek rate including breakfast for two. |

"This time of year Talkeetna and views of Mt. McKinley are gorgeous," says Sharlene Berg, general manager of the lodge. "In addition to miles of trails to explore by foot or mountain bike, there is also trout fishing through October, great dining and our outdoor spa to view Mt. McKinley and possibly the northern lights," added Berg.
The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge will also be hosting special dinner packages, wine tastings and a variety of other events to attract guests throughout the fall and into winter.
"The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is an ideal location for Alaskans to get away. We are specifically designing off-season packages and events tailored for our Alaskan neighbors that also meet the comfort and needs of our out-of-state guests," said Dennis Brandon, vice president of tourism.
