"I work with amazing people and I've learned a lot about the background of ANCSA (Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act). I feel as though I get to witness history as it happens. This is very exciting to me, and I feel fortunate and proud to work at CIRI," said Davis. Born in Anchorage, Davis is a CIRI descendent of Aleut heritage. Her father, Steve Morris, is from Cordova and her mother, Linda Murray, is from Anchorage. During her childhood and teenage years, she and her family lived in Seattle for six years. While there, she enjoyed Seattle's unique character and coastal setting. During her senior year, she returned to Anchorage where she graduated from East High School. Davis enjoys spending time with her two children, her four-year-old son Michael and one-year-old daughter Chanel. In her spare time, she also likes to spend time with friends and go to the movies. She enjoys taking her family on road-trips because when driving a person can get more of a sense of place as well as adventure. Davis has plans to pursue a business degree at Alaska Pacific University when her children get older. Presently, she and her children are busy enjoying the bright fall weather and taking care of their new toy poodle that her son named Ricky. |
