Breck Abell passed away July 16 in Anchorage. Mr. Abell was born July 1, 1959, in California. He is survived by his children, Andrew Enright, Breck Jr. and June Cagungun; and brothers, Bryon, Tim, Russ and Danny Abell.

Anna Vigluak Beebe, 89

Anna Vigluak Beebe passed away Sept. 25 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Ms. Beebe was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Napakiak, Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie E. Alexie; grandson, Angel Bruce Alexie; and great-grandchildren, Tony Alexie-Johnson and Angela, Angeline, Alexander and Carrie-Jayne Alexie.

Elmer Roy Bradley, 63

Elmer Roy Bradley passed away Sept. 29 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage. Mr. Bradley was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Unalakleet, Alaska. He is survived by Elliot Bradley and Irene Balnis.

Carol Marie Carroll, 80

Carol Marie Carroll passed away Sept. 16 at home in Livermore, Calif. Ms. Carroll was born July 22, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, she accepted a commission as an ensign in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps and was engaged in the care of seriously wounded sailors and Marines returning from Vietnam. She eventually earned a Master of Nursing degree and ultimately accepted an appointment to the position of nurse manager at the large U.S. Veterans Affairs Clinic in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ms. Carroll dearly loved having the opportunity to again provide medical care for veterans. After retirement, she enjoyed travel, including three transatlantic cruises, and growing orchids. She and her husband were both certified in the Texas A&M Master Gardner Program and provided support to local botanical gardens and the learning-to-grow program at elementary schools. Ms. Carroll is survived by her husband, Paul Carroll; daughter, Elizabeth (Kevin) Forde; sons, David and Michael Carroll; and grandchildren, Katelyn Carroll, Thomas Carroll, Conor Forde and Caroline Forde.

Thomas John Cheemuk Sr., 66

Thomas John Cheemuk Sr. passed away April 26 in St. Michael, Alaska. Mr. Cheemuk was born Jan. 22, 1954, in St. Michael. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Cheemuk; children, AidaAnn, Thomas Jr., Tamira, Axel, Tommicina and Leon; and 14 grandchildren.

Maria K. Larsen, 64

Maria K. Larsen passed away June 16 in Memphis, Tenn. Ms. Larsen was born Oct. 11, 1955, in St. Paul, Alaska. She is survived by her children, Windy Dix, Stacey Short, Ramona Lorenz and Loren Larsen.

Lois “Lala” Marsden, 76

Lois “Lala” Marsden passed away Aug. 4 at home in Sterling, Alaska. Ms. Marsden was born May 31, 1944, in Golovin, Alaska. She earned a degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 1968 and enjoyed a career as a nurse. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Jerry N. Peter Jr., 60

Jerry N. Peter Jr. passed away Oct. 12 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Mr. Peter was born March 20, 1960, in Anchorage. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Eaddy Peter; siblings, Vera Trenton, Annie Peter, Emma Constantine, Elsie Roehl, Samuel Peter and Gordon Peter; stepson, Leonard Trenton; and stepfather, Bill Standifer.

Ronald A. Piersen, 62

Ronald Ailak Piersen passed away Oct. 19 at home in Anchorage. Mr. Piersen was born Sept. 4, 1958, in Cape Nome, Alaska. He is survived by his nephews, Daniel Mearkle and Robin Mearkle.

Leon R. Stephan, 59

Leon R. Stephan passed away May 22 at home in Anchorage. Mr. Stephan was born Nov. 19, 1960, in Anchorage. He is survived by his wife, Annie Stephan; daughter, Shawna Stephan; son-in-law, Eddie Myas; grandchildren, Tiana Myas, Eddie Myas Jr. and Eliejah Myas; father, Leo Stephan; siblings, Gloria Lorah, Mary Charley, Angela Waskey, Robbin Cooks, Raven Stephan, Lee Stephan, Lester Stephan and Lewis Stephan; 17 nieces and nephews; and 25 great-nieces and -nephews.
