Maxine Richert

Maxine Richert (Athabascan and Tlingit) is what Alaskans call a “snowbird,” spending summers in Alaska and winters in Arizona. Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Maxine holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Reed College and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alaska Southeast. She has worked for several Alaska Native organizations, including 23 years at Sealaska Corporation where she helped to develop a scholarship program and establish an Elders’ Settlement Trust.
