Rona Johnson

Rona Johnson (Athabascan and Aleut) hails from the Kenai Peninsula. She loves adventure, traveling to foreign countries, warm-water scuba diving, fishing with her husband and exploring new places. Rona holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a master’s degree in nursing from Clarkson College in Omaha, Neb., with an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner specialty. She has been working within the Alaska Native health system since 2003, specializing in oncology and palliative care and caring for Alaska Native people of all ages with advanced serious illness and injury. In 2019, Rona was promoted to the position of nurse director for Southcentral Foundation.
