CIRI and CATC employees enjoyed some good food, fun games and lots of team spirit yesterday during the 2009 CIRI Employee picnic.
Some good ol’ Alaska summer sunshine (with just a few light sprinkles) lured most of the employees out of their offices and cubicles and out to Ruth Arcand Park, with husbands, kids, puppies and good friends in tow.
That and the promise of a spectacular volleyball tournament between six teams;
Administration’s “Raven Lunatics”
Shareholder Relation’s “Volley Dolls”
Accounting’s “Net Assets”
Land/Real Estate’s “Dirt Devils”
Legal/Executive’s “CIRI-al Killers”
and the 2009 Champions, the CATC “Travelers”.
The final game between the Raven Lunatics (later shortened to just plain “Lunatics”) and the Travelers was a real nail-biter with CATC winning by just a few points. They retain the bragging rights for a full year until next year’s matches.
The kids enjoyed the three-legged race, the potato-sack race and the back-to-back race, with the top three winners receiving some great prizes. They also were treated to Ruff’l the Clown and the giant Spiderman bouncy castle.
All in all, it was a great, fun-filled day.
A special thanks go out to the volunteers who helped make this happen.
