Michael Agitmuq Heyward is passionate about his work with youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system. He is Yup’ik, with family originally from the Bethel area. He was born and raised in Anchorage and currently lives in Kotzebue, Alaska. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in justice and a Master of Public Administration, Public Management degree, both from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He currently works as a juvenile probation officer 3 for the State of Alaska.

The mission of CIRI is to promote the economic and social well-being and Alaska Native heritage of our Shareholders, now and into the future, through prudent stewardship of the company’s resources, while furthering self-sufficiency among CIRI Shareholders and their families.
