Congratulations to CIRI Shareholder Donita L. Slawson and her daughter, CIRI Descendant Feona Peter, both of whom graduated this spring from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Donita received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, an occupational endorsement in Dena’ina language instruction and an associate degree in Alaska Native studies. Feona received an associate degree from the College of Arts & Sciences. Both Donita and Feona earned their degrees while working and “continue to pursue their educational goals by continuing to take classes whenever possible,” Donita shared.
