Congratulations to CIRI Shareholder Storme Webber (Sugpiaq, Chahta and Black), whose work is being featured as part of the Chicago Field Museum’s latest permanent exhibition, “Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories.” Additionally, her work is included in “Ancestors Know Who We Are,” the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian’s first exhibition to feature Black-Indigenous women artists. Storme is a Seattle-based poet, playwright, educator and interdisciplinary artist. She is connected to CIRI through her grandmother, the late Maxine Webber.
