Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin signed House Bill 356 into law

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin signed House Bill 356 into law at CIRI’s offices on June 17. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Bill Stoltze and provides a mechanism allowing municipalities and Alaska Native corporations (ANC) to exchange lands amongst each other where public ends could be served while maintaining the ANCSA tax exempt status that an ANC may receive.  Eklutna Inc. Board members attended the signing, which was followed by a brief meet-and-greet session with the governor, who also brought along husband Todd and baby Trig.
