Government contracting subsidiary selected for Coast Guard contracts

ANC Northern JV LLC (ANC Northern) received an award notice on Nov. 27, 2009, from the U.S. Coast Guard for the Coast Guard’s Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC). The contract is for the Coast Guard’s Region 17, located solely in Alaska. The Coast Guard started issuing task orders in February 2010.

ANC Northern is a U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a)-certified joint venture between ANC Research & Development LLC (ANC R&D) and Northern Management Services Inc. of Sand Point, Idaho. Northern Management is a general contractor offering construction and operations and maintenance services. It is currently performing 37 contracts for the U.S. government in 19 states. ANC R&D is a wholly owned CIRI government contracting subsidiary.

The contract, an 8(a) competitive award, has a maximum value of $35 million over a 7-year period or could be up to $5 million per year. ANC Northern will bid on individual task orders against other selected MACC contractors.

The successful contractors will perform standard construction, design/build or performance-based construction task orders for general construction, marine construction, demolition and historical restoration, repairs and alterations. Coast Guard facilities range from Ketchikan in Southeast Alaska to Attu Island at the western end of the Aleutian Islands.

ANC Northern will provide limited employment opportunities that will be located in remote sites. These positions will be recruited out of the ANC R&D office in Anchorage at a future date. Positions may include laborers, carpenters or equipment operators and will be posted at www.ancrd.com.
