Internships

CIRI’s internship program for Shareholders and confirmed Descendants is intended to support those entering the workforce. The program creates opportunities for students and recent graduates to directly apply their education in a practical work setting while gaining excellent experience and insight into CIRI’s culture and businesses. CIRI Interns will be provided development and mentorship opportunities in a variety of career fields.

 Eligibility Requirements 

  • Must be a CIRI Shareholder or Descendant
  • GPA of 2.0 or above
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a two- or four-year degree program, OR;
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a vocational program that is relevant to position applied

2026 Intern Placement Opportunities (CIRI departments)

Accounting
Gain exposure to the core functions of the Accounting Department and contribute to a project focused on improving processes and procedures. Ideal candidates are in their third or fourth year of an accounting‑related bachelor’s program or pursuing a master’s degree in finance.

Corporate Communications
Gain experience in CIRI’s social media strategy, content creation, event/program promotion, and video and writing projects, including articles for the Raven’s Circle newsletter. Preferred majors include English/journalism, communications or marketing.

Human Resources (HR)
Learn about core HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, training and development, benefits and more.

Information Technology (IT)
Gain a foundational understanding of corporate IT practices while exploring your interests in the field. Build practical experience and strengthen your problem‑solving and communication skills. Key responsibilities include triaging helpdesk tickets, building and configuring workstations, supporting relocations or hardware modifications, and assisting with cybersecurity tasks.

Legal
Gain exposure to general corporate law and the day‑to‑day functions of the Legal Department. Responsibilities may include conducting research on corporate law, Indian/ANCSA law, and discovery issues; assisting with document preparation; and supporting other administrative duties. Ideal candidates are individuals who have been accepted to, or are currently attending, law school.

Mergers, Acquisitions and Ventures (M&A)
Gain exposure to the full strategic investment process—including mergers, acquisitions and venture capital—and contribute to a project directly tied to these areas. Ideal candidates are in their third or fourth year of a business, finance, or economics‑related bachelor’s program or are pursuing a related master’s degree (MSF/MBA).

Shareholder + Descendant Programs
Support behind‑the‑scenes planning for all program activities, including CIRI’s art contest, summer internship program, virtual mentoring program and more. The successful candidate will also contribute creatively to integrating culture throughout these programs and help develop content that promotes CIRI’s offerings.

Placement Opportunities Outside CIRI

North Wind Group (one position, multiple U.S. locations) 
As a CIRI subsidiary, North Wind Group offers hands‑on internship opportunities across multiple U.S. locations for students interested in accounting, finance, HR, IT, and engineering—including civil, mechanical, electrical and BIM modeling. Interns gain real‑world experience by working alongside seasoned professionals on meaningful projects, developing practical skills, and gaining insight into operations within a growing, mission‑driven organization. This program supports professional growth, mentorship and career exploration while contributing to impactful work across the company’s diverse business lines.
