Jeffrey A. Gonnason

Jeffrey A. Gonnason, O.D., is retired from his private optometry practice and from his work as an independent doctor for eye care offices. He currently serves as a manager of Foxhall Home LLC, Northern Lights Rowing Inc. and Waikai Retreat LLC, and is a member of the Alaska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Gonnason studied engineering at the University of Washington, completed pre‑medical studies at Pacific Lutheran University and earned a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University. He has also completed the Leadership Program through the American Optometric Association and the COSM Summit through the Discovery Institute.

A strong supporter of education, Dr. Gonnason was a founding director of The CIRI Foundation in 1982 and currently serves as chair of that board of directors, as well as on numerous foundation committees. He previously served on the Alaska State Optometry Board under two governors. Dr. Gonnason has served on the CIRI Board of Directors since 2006.
