Join CIRI to celebrate culture with family, food, entertainment, and time-honored traditions.
CIRI typically hosts three Friendship Potlatches each fall: one each in Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula and the Pacific Northwest. Potlatches afford an opportunity to socialize and reinforce important cultural traditions with CIRI Shareholders, confirmed Descendants and their families.
The Potlatch program includes lunch, entertainment, door prizes and an Athabascan cloth ceremony in honor of those who have passed away. CIRI provides Shareholders and confirmed Descendants with an opportunity to display and/or sell arts and crafts at Potlatches; Shareholders and confirmed Descendants may also mingle with CIRI Directors and staff.
Potlatch attendance is limited to CIRI Shareholders, confirmed Descendants and their immediate family members (i.e., spouse, children and/or stock custodian or court-appointed fiduciary).
